At the event, participating forces conducted contents following the Gala script. The event is divided into two parts with well-prepared artistic performances and documentaries conveying messages of young coast guard officers of the two countries.

An artistic performance to be staged on the Gala Night

Notably, Vietnamese and Chinese young coast guard officers will participate in the question-and-answer contest, themed “Friendship,” and the eloquence competition, themed “Cooperation,” during which they will share their aspiration to maintain peace and stability and protect marine environment, thus strengthening the solidarity between the two forces and building the waters of peace, stability, friendship, cooperation, and mutual development.

Speaking at the event, Major General Le Quang Dao, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, emphasized that the third exchange is one of the significant external defense relations activities of the two militaries in general and the two coast guard forces in particular. He added that the program is an opportunity for the two sides to enhance understanding and sharing of experience in performing their tasks.

Gen. Dao urged participating forces to closely follow the program’s theme and continue to cooperate to make thorough preparations for the event.

Praising and acknowledging forces’ efforts, the Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command asked them to address shortcomings and limitations and continue to practice to ensure the success of the Gala Night.

The Gala Night of the third Vietnam - China Young Coast Guard Officer Exchange in 2023 is scheduled to take place on August 24 with the participation of around 40 young coast guard officers of the two countries.
