Gen. Kien affirmed that the exchange is of important meaning in consolidating and deepening the fruitful cooperative ties between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard. This event effectively realizes the Vietnamese Party and State’s foreign policy, the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense’s resolutions, directives and plans on international integration and defense relations in 2024 and subsequent years.

The Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard requested commanding officers and cadres of relevant agencies and units to make thorough preparations close to the event’s theme, build practical exchange activities that hold high political values in terms of external affairs. He also asked them to organize this first edition in a solemn, economical manner with safety ensured.

There remains more than one month to the exchange which is scheduled to take place in Hai Phong city and Hanoi capital city. Therefore, Gen Kien asked them to continue promoting high sense of responsibility, closely coordinate with each other, speed up the preparation with a focus on training for interpreters, protocol, and decoration.

He also stressed the enhancement of dissemination work so that more people learn about this meaningful program.

At the event, representatives from agencies and units reported on the progress of the preparations for the exchange and difficulties.

Key activities in the exchange, slated for this August, will include a courtesy visit on leaders of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, high-level talks between political commissars of the two forces, a tribute-paying to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, visits to President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, Coast Guard Region 1 Command, coast guard ship 8004, and a cultural exchange.
