Peacekeeper doctors practice overall operation of L2FH2
PANO - The staff of Vietnam’s Level-two Field Hospital No.2 (L2FH2) continued to practice operating the hospital in preparation for its future deployment to a UN mission.
During the exercise, staff members of the hospital re-practiced dealing with the assumed medical cases that they had already dealt in the previous phase, in order to gain more working experience in each case and exactly evaluate the professional qualifications of each staff member.
Nguyen Tuan Vu, working at the hospital’s Emergency Ward, said that, thanks to the training course, he and his colleagues have now mastered the UN-standardized operational procedures for keeping patients’ health records.
With assistance of experts from the host and its partner countries of the UK, US, and Australia, members of the hospital improved their professional expertise and skills after successfully dealing with each scenario.
L2FH2 Director, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Hien, revealed that it was the first time the hospital had conducted such a large-scale field drill. After the exercise, they would further train additional contents in an effort to address all shortcomings pointed out by domestic and foreign experts.
Meanwhile, L2FH2 Deputy Director Mai Hop emphasized that the exercise provided an opportunity for military medical professionals to improve their overall operational skills and abilities and run the hospital in a close-to-reality environment prior to its deployment to a UN mission.
