Offices of Vietnamese and Laos Defense Ministries foster cooperation

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh emphasized that the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos is vital to the two nations. He said that the delegation’s visit, which took place in the context that the two countries are cooperating to organize activities within the “Vietnam – Laos, Laos – Vietnam Friendship Year 2022,” was to realize the common perceptions between the two defense ministries, contributing to deepening the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vietnamese deputy defense minister highly appreciated the close coordination between the offices of the Vietnamese and Lao Defense Ministries in advising and working with relevant agencies to implement assigned tasks over the past time. The two offices have become important bridges in the bilateral defense cooperation.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh affirmed that MND’s leaders always support and create all favorable conditions for the two offices to strengthen their cooperation and implement the common perceptions reached by leaders of the two defense ministries, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity between the two parties, two states, militaries, and peoples.

For his part, Lieutenant General Saichay Kommasith briefed Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh on the results of his talks with Major General Nguyen Viet Tuyen, Chief of MND’s Office. The Chief of the Lao Defense Ministry’s Office took the occasion to thank MND for its support to the Lao Ministry of Defense, including its Office.

Earlier the same day, Major General Nguyen Viet Tuyen held talks with Lieutenant General Saichay Kommasith. During the event, the two sides evaluated that over the past time, the Vietnamese and Lao offices have actively and comprehensively implemented cooperation contents, creating a solid basis for bilateral cooperation in the future.
