Also, the visit was to enhance friendship between Vietnam and Laos, becoming a practical activity to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962-2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977-2022).

In addition, the annual meeting of the three defense ministers and the joint SAR drill contributed to reinforcing and strengthening the friendship and solidarity among the three countries, while enhancing the three militaries’ collaboration and response to non-traditional security threats.
