The visit held special significance, underscoring the spirit of solidarity and the motto: "Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability" between the An Giang Provincial Border Guard and the authorities and armed forces of Cambodian localities.
During the meeting, the guest extended congratulations to all officers and soldiers of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard. Lt. Gen. Chhoeurn Sochet personally congratulated Senior Colonel Pham Van Thang on his new appointment as Second-in-Command of the An Giang Provincial Military Command and Commanding Officer of the provincial Border Guard Command.
The head of the Cambodian delegation expressed his delight at the effective cooperation between the two sides over the years in safeguarding border sovereignty and combating crimes, particularly drug trafficking, human trafficking, and high-tech crimes. He expressed confidence that in the future, both sides will continue to work together in the spirit of neighborliness, friendship, mutual respect for sovereignty, and mutual trust, resolving emerging border issues in a timely and effective manner.
The delegation also delivered congratulatory letters and messages from Cambodian officials to the officers and soldiers of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command and to Col. Thang.
In response, Col. Thang expressed his appreciation and sincere thanks to the Cambodian police delegation for the visit and the warm sentiments extended to An Giang’s border guards.
He affirmed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to regularly exchange information related to political security and public order; foster coordination to promptly address incidents along the border in a spirit of peace, friendship, and cooperation, with mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The two sides will also continue to educate local people about the long-standing friendship between the two nations and their militaries, carry out practical initiatives to promote economic development and maintain political stability and public security in the border areas, and work together to build a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
