An overview of the conference |
Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, Deputy Head of the Organizing Panel of the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 Major General Le Quang Tuyen, and leaders of units inside and outside the military were present at the event.
Themed “Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Mutual Development,” the expo will be held from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport, Long Bien district, Hanoi with many interesting activities.

The expo, chaired by the Vietnamese Defense Ministry, aims to share achievements and experience in equipment and weapons production and exploitation while boosting cooperation in the field of defense industry between Vietnam and participating countries.
At the conference, General Tan noted that the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 will be held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, and 35th anniversary of the whole-people’s defense festive day. This is a special event, marking the construction and development of the Vietnam People’s Army in general, and the defense industry sector in particular.

The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 will create an international playground to help Vietnamese businesses to improve production capacity and competitiveness for exports and join the global supply chain, bringing revenue for the country and businesses.
The expo also demonstrates Vietnam’s viewpoints, policies, and vision on independent and self-reliant foreign relations, integration, multilateralization, and diversification of relations, contributing to affirming that Vietnam is a reliable friend and partner of all countries.

So far, there are 40 foreign firms having confirmed their participation in the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024.
Besides, the defense ministry plans to invite over 120 international delegations from 50 countries. Meanwhile, Vietnamese defense minister will invite 35 foreign defense ministers.

Major General Le Quang Tuyen emphasized that there will be a flight performance of the air force and the performance of the commando force. On display at booths will be defense and security products and technologies of defense industry companies.
There will be business exchanges and military seminars, along with art performances introducing the Vietnamese culture during the event.
