The information was announced by Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Defense Industry, at the Defense Ministry’s press meeting on January 26 in Hanoi.

According to the organizing panel, the second edition, themed “Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Mutual Development,” will be held on a larger scale than the first one. A series of activities will be held during the expo. In addition to booths displaying defense products researched and produced by domestic and foreign defense enterprises, the organizers will organize seminars and discussions. Unique artistic performances imbued with the traditional culture of the Vietnamese people will be staged to entertain delegates and visitors. 

The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 is an opportunity for the Vietnamese Defense Ministry to popularize new defense products researched and manufactured by domestic defense businesses; promote defense cooperation and technology transfer; expand investment cooperation in defense industry with other countries and international partners. 

The expo is also one of the practical activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the whole people’s defense festive day (December 22, 1989 – 2024).
