Representing the co-chairing partners, Giovanna Ceglie, Director of the Division for Special Activities under the U.N. Department of Operational Support, highlighted the host country's view on the importance of strengthening collective efforts in support of U.N peacekeeping operations through solidarity and friendship. She noted that the multicultural foundation of U.N. peacekeeping is what unites participating countries and remains one of its core strengths.
Throughout the workshop, delegates identified several shared priorities for the TPP, including improving performance evaluation and accountability, promoting innovation and technology in training, particularly in counter-improvised explosive devices (C-IED), counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), medical support, and telemedicine, expanding cooperation with ASEAN and other regional organizations, and strengthening train-the-trainer programs to build sustainable national and regional capacities.
These priorities will serve as the foundation for developing the TPP's strategic framework for the 2027–2030 period in line with the U.N. Secretary General's vision for the future of peace operations.
