Participating agencies and units exchanged views and discussed areas requiring closer coordination while updating cooperation demands to facilitate the implementation of concrete and effective defense industry cooperation activities in the coming period. These efforts are expected to contribute to developing a self-reliant, self-sufficient, resilient, dual-use, modern, and internationally integrated defense industry of Vietnam.
At the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Doan Cuong, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the GDDI, updated defense attachés on preparations for the third Vietnam Defense Expo, scheduled to take place this December. To date, 97 exhibitors from 25 countries have registered to participate, occupying a total exhibition area of 6,092 square meters, equivalent to 508 standard booths.
The GDDI hoped for continued close coordination with the Vietnamese defense attachés to accomplish tasks related to international defense industry cooperation and defense external affairs in general. Through the defense attachés serving abroad, the GDDI also aims to further promote disseminating information on the capabilities of Vietnam’s defense industry, while seeking and expanding partnerships for the export of Vietnamese defense products.
