The one-month course, jointly held by the Military Youth Advisory Board and the Defense Trade Union Board, will provide 40 Lao trainees with theory and practice on the work.

To make the course more effective, the organizers will hold visits and field trips to units under the Vietnam People’s Army for the participants to eye-witness and learn from models on Youth and Trade Union affairs.

During their study, the Lao officers will also tour several landscapes, historical relic sites in the country.

The course’s activities will help Lao trainees improve their professional expertise to contribute to improving the quality of the Youth and Trade Union work in the Lao People’s Army and learn more about Vietnam, its people and heroic military.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Tran Viet Nang, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board under the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), highlighted that the course aims to foster professional knowledge and skills, exchange and share practical experience in the work of the Vietnam People's Army with the Lao officers.

On behalf of the Lao trainees, Lieutenant Colonel Xaysana Thammasone, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Department under the GDP of the Lao People’s Army, hoped that they will have their competence raised after the course. He said that Lao cadres will pro-actively study and exchange experience with relevant units from Vietnam and will apply what they acquire during the course to their future work to help build a strong contingent of Lao Youth and Trade Union members.
