Themed “Strengthening connections, sharing information, fostering friendship and solidarity toward the future,” the event was part of the official visit and exchange program of Lao young officers in Vietnam in 2025.
During the event, young officers from both sides shared valuable experience and discussed topics of mutual concern, including the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; creative models and initiatives by young officers in educating revolutionary traditions and ideals, and in building political will among troops; effective strategies to counter hostile views in cyberspace; and the role of young officers in research, technological development, innovation, and digital transformation to support military modernization.
Other topics included the responsibilities of young officers in preparing for international integration, defense diplomacy, peacekeeping operations, and efforts to build a borderline of friendship, cooperation, and development.

Speaking at the event, Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board and head of the Vietnamese delegation, emphasized that in recent years, youth organizations within the Vietnam People’s Army have actively promoted dynamism and innovation among young troops. Many effective and practical activities have been conducted through a wide range of creative and pioneering models. These initiatives have produced notable results, significantly contributing to the success of political tasks and the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern military force, thus playing an important role in national construction and defense.

Military youth organizations of the two countries have also maintained annual training programs to share expertise and improve youth-related work in both forces. These programs focus on developing skills and exchanging experience in organizing military youth activities.
The talks aimed to reinforce the determination of young officers from both countries to preserve and further develop the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, as well as the strong bonds between their respective Parties, States, peoples, and armed forces.
Earlier that morning, the two delegations held a wreath-laying and incense-offering ceremony in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, and the nation’s heroic martyrs at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House (a branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Military Region 5), and also toured the museum afterward.
