At the meeting, Lieutenant General Ly Hout praised recent bilateral cooperation in maintaining maritime security and order. He noted these efforts have facilitated legal fishing activities for both Vietnamese and Cambodian fishermen. He urged continued information sharing to ensure a peaceful maritime environment and extended Tet 2026 greetings to the unit’s personnel.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Khiem thanked the Cambodian delegation, highlighting that the collaboration in 2025 between An Giang provincial border guards and the Frontline Tactical Command successfully secured the maritime border. He proposed further coordination and legal education for fishermen, emphasizing that any incidents should be resolved humanely to strengthen the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.

Colonel Khampieng Duang Xay Pheng briefed delegates on Houaphanh province’s socio-economic development and military growth. On the occasion of Vietnam’s traditional Tet, e extended New Year greetings to Son La province and thanked the Son La Provincial Military Command for its support in funding, training, healthcare, and equipment.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Quang appreciated Houaphanh’s sentiments, highlighting their effective coordination in border security and the repatriation of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers' remains. He hoped both commands would further cooperate, exchange defense expertise, and maintain border order to strengthen the Vietnam-Laos "special solidarity."
