Cambodian delegation extends Tet greetings to Military Region 9

The delegation was received by Major General Nguyen Minh Trieu, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9.

An overview of the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chea Sokirth expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm, respectful, and thoughtful reception extended by the leadership of Military Region 9. He also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Military Region 9, as well as to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors, who sacrificed their lives to help liberate Cambodia from the Pol Pot genocidal regime.

Mr. Chea Sokirth emphasized his hope that the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as between the Military Region 9 and Kampong Chhnang Province, would continue to be further strengthened and deepened. On the occasion of Vietnam’s traditional Tet, he extended his best wishes to the officers and soldiers of Military Region 9.

On behalf of the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 9, Major General Nguyen Minh Trieu thanked Mr. Chea Sokirth and the Cambodian delegation for their visit and kind sentiments. He also expressed appreciation for the support provided by the authorities, armed forces, and people of Kampong Chhnang Province, which have enabled Military Region 9’s forces to effectively carry out the mission of searching for, recovering, and repatriating the remains of fallen Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who sacrificed their lives in Cambodia.

The Deputy Commander of Military Region 9 affirmed his confidence that the two sides would continue to closely coordinate in situation assessment and information exchange, maintain stability along the border areas, and further build and consolidate the bonds of solidarity and cooperation between units of Military Region 9 and the armed forces and localities of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
