L2FH Rotation 6 joins aero-medical evacuation training
PANO - An aero-medical evacuation training course was launched on June 10 in Hanoi to equip the personnel of Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 6 with knowledge and skills necessary for successful participation in the U.N. peacekeeping operations.
The course, running until June 16, sees the participation of 28 trainees and Australian instructors, Vietnam's Military Medical University, Military Hospital 175, the Air Defense - Air Force Service, and those who previously served in the Air Medical Evacuation Team (AMET) of the L2FH.

The trainees will be equipped with general knowledge related to aero-medical transport according to the international and U.N. standards; principles and procedures for aero-medical transport; safety protocols, patient reception and transfer procedures, to name but a few. During the practice phase, the trainees will have a chance to apply obtained knowledge to medical evacuation scenarios using helicopters.

The exercises will cover patient loading and unloading procedures, and require them to respond effectively to various pre-defined medical emergencies.
