Indonesian coast guard vessel visits Ba Ria - Vung Tau province

Present at the welcoming ceremony for the Indonesian vessel were Senior Colonel Nguyen Minh Khanh, Deputy Commander and Chief-of-Staff of Coast Guard Region 3; representatives from the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Department of Foreign Relations, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Border Guard Command, the Naval Region 2 Command, the defense ministry’s agencies, and the Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the vessel’s visit, various activities are scheduled, including courtesy visits on the leadership of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, sports competitions with officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 3, and joint search and rescue drills as well as fire fighting and prevention exercises at sea with the Vietnam Coast Guard.

The visit by Vessel KN Pulau Dana 323 is part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two countries' coast guard forces, signed in 2021. The visit provides an opportunity for officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Indonesian Coast Guard to exchange, learn from each other, share practical experiences in law enforcement at sea, and strengthen friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding, and trust.

As part of the program, the two sides will conduct joint training on search and rescue operations and fire fighting and prevention at sea, which will enhance the technical capabilities, equipment proficiency, and practical experience of the coast guard personnel from both nations.
