The visit of the vessel Samudra Paheredar is a realization of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two forces signed in 2015.
Through this visit, officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese coast guard force and the Indian Coast Guard have the opportunity to exchange experience and practicalities in maritime law enforcement, thereby contributing to enhancing friendship, cooperation, understanding, and mutual trust between the two sides in the future.
The Samudra Paheredar has a length of 94.10 meters, a maximum displacement of 4,300 tons. It was developed and manufactured in India and commissioned on July 20, 2012.
Captain Sudhir Ravindran stated that the vessel was designed to fulfill numerous tasks, with the capability to conduct exercises and respond to oil spills at sea. The objective of the visit is to enhance cooperation, share common concerns between the Indian Coast Guard and the Vietnam Coast Guard.
