Frigate 016–Quang Trung successfully completes participation in Kakadu 2026
PANO - On the morning of March 25, Frigate 016–Quang Trung of Brigade 162 of Naval Region 4, departed Sydney Harbor, Australia, for its return voyage to Vietnam after successfully completing its participation in the International Fleet Review marking the 125th anniversary of the foundation day of the Royal Australian Navy and in Kakadu 2026.

During its stay in Sydney from March 21 to 24, the ship’s crew and the delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy, led by Senior Captain Nguyen Minh Lanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 4, took part in a series of activities including the fleet review, in-port training, and a conference for fleet commanders. They also engaged in cultural and sports exchanges with the Royal Australian Navy and other participating navies in Kakadu 2026.
On this occasion, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, attended the fleet review aboard HMAS Leeuwin alongside Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn. He also hosted a reception on board Frigate 016–Quang Trung, attended by Vice Admiral Mark Hammond, Chief of the Royal Australian Navy, representatives of participating navies, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Pham Hung Tam, and members of the Vietnamese community in Australia.

Earlier, on March 20, within the framework of Kakadu 2026, Frigate 016–Quang Trung participated in formation maneuvering, aerial photography, and a transit sail from the anchorage at Jervis Bay to Sydney Harbor.
