Departing from Cam Ranh Military Port on February 23, Ship 016-Quang Trung docked at Coonawarra Naval Base in Darwin city, Northern Australia, on March 5 for replenishment and technical services before continuing its voyage to Sydney, New South Wales, to join the Multilateral Naval Exercise Kakadu 2026.

Earlier on the morning of March 18, Senior Captain Nguyen Minh Lanh, Deputy Chief of the Staff of Naval Region 4 and Head of the Vietnam People’s Navy delegation on Ship 016-Quang Trung, chaired a meeting to draw experience from the journey from Vietnam to Australia and deploy subsequent tasks for the ship and the delegation in Australia.

Accordingly, it was assessed that Ship 016-Quang Trung had successfully completed the set plan, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment.

The ship’s crew strictly maintained watches and shifts, even in adverse weather conditions at sea. The communication system remained smooth. Daily routines were maintained and adjusted according to the time zones suitable for each location.

The head of the delegation requested the crew and the delegation to uphold their highest spirit and responsibility to excellently fulfill the defense diplomacy mission in Australia this time.

Ship 016-Quang Trung maneuvers to its anchorage position in Jervis Bay.

As planned, on March 19, Lieutenant Commander Dang Van Do, Captain of Ship 016-Quang Trung, will attend a meeting at Creswell Naval Base to discuss the plan for the journey combining formation maneuvering and aerial photography from the Jervis Bay anchorage to Sydney Port (March 20) and the International Fleet Review at Sydney Port on March 21.
