Foreign military attachés visit VNMAC
PANO – A mission of foreign military attachés to Vietnam visited the Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) in Hanoi on July 26.

On behalf of the VNMAC, Deputy General Director of the center Nguyen Hanh Phuc affirmed that defense cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the world have been developing in both scope and scale, contributing substantially to strengthening and building the environment of peace, stability, and development in the region and the world on the basis of mutual respect for independence and territorial integrity and interests of each country. He also hoped that foreign military attachés to Vietnam continue to contribute to boosting cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and their armed forces and the relations between VNMAC and international organizations in easing consequences of bombs, mines and explosives in Vietnam.
The military attachés were then introduced to the functions and missions of VNMAC, the real situation of unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination in Vietnam, the National Program for Mine Action (Program 504) of Vietnam, and the support and cooperation proposals from the international community.
On behalf of the military attachés, Indian Defense Attachés to Vietnam, Colonel Paranvir Singh Punia, acting head of the military attachés mission in Vietnam, thanked the center for the warm reception and believed that the visit was a chance for military attachés to Vietnam to learn more about the UXO consequence mitigation activities in Vietnam.
