Foreign defense attachés visit HCM City
PANO – Le Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, received a delegation of foreign defense attaches to Vietnam, led by Colonel Ton That Tuan, defense attaché of the US to Vietnam on June 18.
Liem highly valued the delegation’s working visit to learn about the political, defense-security and socio-economic situations in localities in Vietnam and hoped that through the visit, the delegation will have access to more useful information about the country, including Ho Chi Minh City.
He stressed that the City has become the country’s economic hub as well as an economic, financial and scientific-technological center.
HCM City every year welcomes many foreign military ships on their friendship visits, thus contributing to strengthening mutual understanding and exchanges between the city and foreign countries, as well as building and maintaining an environment of peace and stability in the region.
On behalf of the delegation, Colonel Ton That Tuan highly appreciated the City’s dynamic development as well as its role and position in the country’s socio-economic development.
The visit would help the delegation’s members further understand the land and people of Vietnam in order to have advice to their countries’ leaders in promoting ties with Vietnam in the coming time.
