Notably, among the Kazakh participants were relatives of late Lieutenant General Zhansen Kereev, a prominent general who was assigned by the Soviet Union as a senior military adviser to the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army in the 1981-1982 period and presented with the first class Feat-of-Arms Order by the State of Vietnam.

In a friendly and warm atmosphere, Kazakh veterans and several cadres touchingly recalled their memories about their staying and working period in Vietnam. They also highlighted Lt. Gen. Kerreev’s life, career, experience, and lessons on military-building, troops-caring, contributing to promoting friendship between the two peoples and militaries. They affirmed that the sharing and standing side-by-side ties between the two countries’ veterans in the past should be fostered and developed by youngsters of the two sides, helping to enhance the two countries’ friendship and multifaceted cooperation in the time ahead.

The Vietnamese diplomat confirmed that the Vietnamese people will never forget the great and wholehearted support of peoples and militaries of brother countries, especially former Soviet Union, including the Kazakh people and military, for  its long journey of national construction and defense.

The Vietnamese ambassador also added that emotional and meaningful stories about the side-by-side combat between Vietnamese people and their Kazakh friends during the exchange would help Vietnamese youngsters further respect the peace, independence, and freedom they are benefiting.

On the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector, the Vietnamese diplomat spoke highly of the noble duties and high sense of responsibility of Vietnamese diplomats, dubbed as soldiers on the diplomatic front in the cause of safeguarding the Fatherland from afar. They have helped boost the friendship, cooperation, and noble international solidarity between Vietnam and other countries in the world.
