Vietnam, Kazakhstan strengthen defense cooperation
PANO – Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich on April 19 received Lieutenant General Talgat Sabitovich Mukhtarov, the Kazakhstan Deputy Defense Minister, who is on a business trip to Vietnam.
At the meeting, General Ngo Xuan Lich warmly welcomed Lieutenant General Talgat Sabitovich Mukhtarov and his entourage to Vietnam and hoped that the visit would enhance mutual understanding between the two militaries and countries. General Lich believed that the guests would have a successful visit to Vietnam.

For his part, General Mukhtarov informed General Lich about the results of the talks between the missions of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense and Vietnam’s counterpart held previously. He affirmed that the results of the talks have opened up new opportunities for bilateral defense cooperation, especially in their fields of strength such as training, defense industry, etc.

Earlier in the day, the mission of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense led by Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and the mission of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense led by Lieutenant General Talgat Sabitovich Mukhtarov held talks. At the talks, the two sides expressed their hope to have more and effective defense cooperation activities in the coming time, especially in the realms of training, defense industry, participation in UN peacekeeping operations, and more.
