Senior Colonel Nguyen Ba Hung, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, delivers a speech at the conference.

The event aimed to clarify the core contents and new highlights of the 2026 overall training plan; comprehensively review training outcomes in recent years; identify shortcomings and their causes; and reach consensus on orientations and solutions to further improve the quality of U.N. peacekeeping training in the coming period. It also sought to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the VNDPKO and relevant agencies, units, and military academies in organizing training in line with the requirements of the Ministry of National Defense and United Nations standards.

Accordingly, the plan supplements training contents for unit-level formations with a focus on political education, including internal political security, regulations and rules on information security and confidentiality while performing duties at U.N. peacekeeping missions. In terms of peacekeeping-specific training, additional content on maneuver and force protection in emergency situations has been incorporated.
