The event honored the long-standing loyalty and special regard of the Vietnamese Party, State and Vietnam People’s Army toward Laos, while contributing to educating young generations about the great Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam friendship.

Major General Vu Duc Long, the academy’s Deputy Political Commissar, representatives of its departments, officers and lecturers, along with numerous Lao cadets studying at the academy, attended the event.

At the event, General Long presented flowers and extended warm congratulations to the Lao people, expressing hope that Lao cadets would continue achieving good results and serve as an important bridge strengthening ties between Vietnam and Laos.

He emphasized the profound significance of December 2 for the Lao revolutionary cause, marking the beginning of a new era of independence and development under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. He affirmed that the Vietnam - Laos relationship, built and preserved by generations of leaders, soldiers and citizens, remains an invaluable asset and an exemplary symbol of international solidarity.

Delegates also reviewed the steadfast combat alliance of the two militaries during wartime and the comprehensive cooperation since diplomatic ties were established in 1962. General Long praised the efforts of Lao cadets and urged them to overcome language and living-condition challenges to become core officers contributing to the development of the Lao People’s Army.

Major Phayvanh, Head of the Lao Cadet Delegation, expressed deep gratitude for Vietnam’s wholehearted support throughout Laos’ struggle for national liberation and national building, reaffirming that every Lao revolutionary victory is tied to Vietnam’s companionship. Delegates revisited historic milestones of the Lao revolution, including the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975, and honored the contributions of leaders such as Kaysone Phomvihane, Souphanouvong and President Ho Chi Minh.

Since 1962, the Political Academy has trained thousands of Lao officers and sent experts to assist Laos in military social sciences, contributing to strengthening defense cooperation and preserving traditional solidarity.

On the same day, Battalion 2 of the Air Force Officer Candidate School held a similar event, during which delegates recalled the loyal and pure Vietnam - Laos friendship, built and tested during resistance wars. Lao cadets studying at the school have maintained discipline, solidarity and good academic performance, contributing to fostering ties between Vietnam and Laos.

The school's deputy head Sr. Col. Nguyen Truong Thanh encouraged Lao cadets to continue striving in their studies and affirmed that the School provides the best possible conditions for their training. Delegates expressed confidence that Lao cadets will return home to contribute to building the Lao People’s Army and strengthening the enduring Vietnam - Laos relationship.
