In her remarks at the event, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh emphasized that the establishment of the Lao PDR on December 2, 1975 opened an important new era in the history of the Lao people. Over the past 50 years, under the sound leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Laos has successfully fulfilled its two strategic tasks of national construction and national defense. The considerable achievements the Lao PDR has gained over the past five decades are attributed to the creative, resolute, and highly determined leadership of successive generations of Lao Party and State leaders, as well as to the cooperation and valuable support from international friends, especially the sincere, wholehearted, and effective assistance from the Vietnamese Party, State, and people.

On behalf of the Lao Party, State, and people, the Lao diplomat expressed deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for their invaluable support to the Lao revolutionary cause, both during the struggle for national liberation in the past and in the efforts of current national building, protection, and development.
