Deputy defense minister receives Lao military delegation
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Defense Minister, on November 30, received a delegation of the Department of Foreign Relations and experts of the Lao People’s Army, led by its Director Major General Bundueang Phansodsay.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Department of Foreign Relations of the Lao People’s Army would further gain achievements, contributing to promoting the special friendship and solidarity between the two militaries.
He also affirmed the Vietnam - Laos special relationship is always vital for the two peoples, noting that the Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022 is about to end with many impressions on the close ties between the two militaries in particular and the two countries in general. A number of meaningful activities was held in the framework of the program.
The Vietnamese deputy defense chief hailed the important contribution of the working group meeting mechanism to the Vietnam - Laos defense cooperation. Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, as an advisory organ of the two defense ministries on defense foreign affairs, the two Departments of Foreign Relations effectively conducted many cooperation programs.

Speaking highly of the outcomes of the working session between the two departments, the host requested both sides to continue working closely together to finalize the cooperation plan in 2023 to submit to the two defense leaders. He underscored that the Vietnamese defense leaders always support and create favorable conditions for both sides to enhance cooperation, contributing to deepening the bilateral defense relations.
For his part, Major General Bundueang Phansodsay thanked the Vietnamese deputy defense minister for his warm reception. He also informed Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien about the outcomes of the delegation’s working visit to Vietnam.
Major General Bundueang Phansodsay emphasized that the visit contributed to the development of the bilateral cooperation, noting that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always support the Lao side to conduct the bilaterally-agreed cooperation plans.
