The event was part of the important activities within the comprehensive cooperation program between Vietnam’s Military Central Hospital 108 and Central Hospital 103 of the Lao People’s Army.

An overview of the conference |
The conference provided an opportunity for scientists and doctors of the two hospitals to meet, exchange, and share experience in diagnosis, health examination, emergency care, and treatment. It was to update participants on new knowledge about health examination and treatment, experience in clinical practice, and outcomes of scientific researchers to enhance the quality of healthcare for troops and people of the two countries.
Thirty four reports delivered at the event provided valuable experience as well as scientific achievements to raise medical staff’s professional capability, quality of healthcare service, and the effectiveness of treatment and disease control. These knowledge and experience will contribute to bringing benefits to patients.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Party Secretary and Director of Military Central Hospital 108 Lieutenant General Mai Hong Bang said that over the past years, following the two hospitals’ twinning program, many doctors of Military Central Hospital 108 have been sent to assist Central Hospital 103 of the Lao People’s Army in mastering new advanced techniques in examining and treating patients.

In addition, Military Central Hospital 108 has paid special attention to training and transferring techniques to enhance Lao military medical staff’s professional competence.
In recent two years, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the two hospitals have maintained their cooperation activities through online form. The transfer of techniques and technological advances and sharing of experience between their professors and doctors have been conducted through Telemedicine system.
Lieutenant General Mai Hong Bang believed that the conference will not only help strengthen the relationship between the two countries in general and the two hospitals in particular, but also foster the effective cooperation in scientific research, especially in health examination and treatment for Vietnamese and Lao troops and people.
