Defense ministry reviews preparations for ACAMM-23, AARM-30 and ASMAM-10
PANO – The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense held a conference on October 24 to review preparations for the 23rd ASEAN Chief of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM-23), the 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-30), and the 10th ASEAN Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting (ASMAM-10) under the chair of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
At the meeting, the functional agencies of the defense ministry briefed the delegates on the progress of preparations for ACAMM-23, AARM-30 and ASMAM-10. Delegates then discussed remaining issues such as the events’ contents, participating members of the major activities, the front office work, the logistical supplies, the security and safety, and so on.
Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia stressed that these events are politically meaningful to the Vietnam People’s Army. Therefore, all preparations must be thoughtful, contributing to leaving good impression on international friends and improving international solidarity and cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and ASEAN armed forces, he added.
General Nghia required all forces to prepare concrete plans, closely collaborate with relevant agencies, manage the registrations of ASEAN members, and promptly report emerging issues to higher levels while organizing solemn ceremonies with absolute safety and security for the participating delegations and ensuring adequate weapons, equipment, and materials for the AARM-30.

He underlined that the preparations must showcase Vietnam’s pro-activeness as an active and responsive member in ASEAN military-defense cooperation.
