Defense Minister receives newly-appointed US Ambassador
PANO - General Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of National Defense hosted a reception for newly-appointed US Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink at the Defense Ministry’s headquarters on Dec. 11.

At the reception, General Lich congratulated the guest on his new appointment as US Ambassador to Vietnam, and hoped that the ambassador would successfully fulfill his job during his term of office in Vietnam and contribute to fostering the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, especially the defense ties.
For his part, the guest reaffirmed that the US always considers Vietnam as a key partner in the region and hope to accelerate cooperation with the country.
During the event, both sides recalled developments of the bilateral defense ties in recent years and agreed to further their joint collaboration in overcoming the aftermath of the war in Vietnam and sharing experience in UN peacekeeping operations.
In addition, they also discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of US Secretary of Defense to Vietnam.
