Defense Minister meets with Lao Deputy Prime Minister

Expressing his delight at meeting General Chansamone Chanyalath again, General Giang affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos continue to be strengthened and developed more widely in all fields. Among these, defense cooperation is regarded by the senior leadership of both countries as one of the important pillars of the bilateral relationship.

Notably, the strategic political trust, solidarity and close bond between the two militaries have been increasingly strengthened; cooperation mechanisms and forms have become more diverse; security and order along the shared borderline have been maintained. In addition, cooperation in human resource training has been attached much importance to, and cooperation in building defense capabilities and defense industry has been effectively carried out.

General Giang expressed his hope that in the coming time, the two sides would continue to maintain and strengthen their special relationship in general and defense cooperation in particular.

For his part, General Chansamone Chanyalath thanked General Giang for the warm welcome during this official visit. He also conveyed the greetings of the leaders of Laos to the Party and State leaders of Vietnam on the occasion of the lunar New Year 2025.

The Lao defense leader stated that the two sides have achieved many significant and substantial results in bilateral defense cooperation recently. They have closely coordinated and supported each other at multilateral forums, mechanisms, and international events organized by each side, thereby contributing to strengthening the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
