Before the competition, Gen. Tan was briefed on the training and competition results, especially considerable achievements gained by the Vietnamese shooters.

Also, he inquired after the troops and encouraged them to do their utmost to get the best possible results while observing COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

On the occasion, Major General Anatoly Georgievich Kontsevoi, Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces of Russia and Main Referee of the “Tactical Shooter” Contest, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan.

The Russian officer spoke highly of the Vietnamese shooters’ good skills and high sense of discipline. Notably, he underlined that the Vietnamese Shooters Contingent could enter the semi-final (August 31).

According to Colonel Dinh Tat Thang, Head of the Vietnamese Tactical Shooter Contingent, the troops have gained encouraging achievements with two shooters ranking third and another ranking fourth out of 17 competitors in individual competitions.

The “Tactical Shooter” Contest is held for the first time at the Army Games 2021. The contest consists of four stages with seven shooting exercises. During the competitions, athletes must find the target and fire at it in the shortest time. Each missed target will add 60 seconds to the result.
