At the meeting, on behalf of the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command, its Second-in-Command Senior Colonel Tran Ngoc Chau presented gifts to the police departments, military sub-regions, Gendarmerie Command, and 601 Border Guard Regiment of the Special Military Region of the Cambodian provinces of Takeo and Kandal. The gifts, totally worth VND 2 billion, included necessities and fund to help them buy equipment to serve their task implementation.

During the event, both sides shared information about the situation along the borderline, agreeing to continue to boost cooperation in information sharing and patrol to protect the borderline while preventing illegal crossings over border areas.

On behalf of the Kandal provincial armed forces, Lieutenant General Roem Sari, Director of the Kandal provincial Public Security thanked the An Giang provincial border guards for their support.

He also affirmed that over the past time, both sides have boosted close coordination in performing assigned tasks. He expressed his hope that the two sides would further work together in the fight against crimes and pandemics while creating favorable conditions for people on both sides to exchange goods and have their health checked, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty over the border areas, building the borderline of peace, solidarity and development.
