Marriott International (MI), a world-renowned luxury hotel operator, is planning to construct a resort under the brand name JW Marriott in Vietnam for the first time.
This is part of an MI project to set up 57 hotels in Asia within the next four years despite the ongoing global recession.
These hotels include 21 inChina, 24 in India and eight in Thailand. They are expected to create 15,000 jobs for people in eight regional countries.
The MI firm currently owns JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance brand names and manages 109 hotels in 13 Asian countries.
