Viettel’s smart city model has been carried out in various cities and provinces nationwide.

WCA’s Smart Cities Award is a category that seeks an effective and creative solution that benefits people and businesses, improves the people's quality of life and increases the operation efficiency of city administration.

The award is evaluated based on five criteria: Application scope of the solution; the ability to meet the people's need or improve their living standards; the solution’s completeness in comparison with other existing solutions in the market; the solution’s benefits to the people; the role of organizations and businesses in building a smart city.

Viettel’s smart city model is a comprehensive solution with 14 component centers. Viettel is able to build a smart city in line with each province’s and city’s needs, characteristics, real situation, and culture to help them optimize local resources, improve competitiveness, and increase the people’s satisfaction.

Over the past time, Viettel has signed cooperation agreements with 30 cities and provinces nationwide on applying technology to smart city building.

Earlier, Viettel's project to develop a center for smart city administration in Vietnam's Hue city won the “Most Innovative Smart Cities Project” title at the Telecom Asia Awards 2019.

World Communications Awards, one of the most prestigious telecommunications awards of the globe, has been organized annually by Total Telecom Magazine since 1999.
