Notably, Viettel actively undertook product research and development and then subsequently turned out products into operation and ultimately sold these to international partners, including the 300 4G base transceiver stations (BTS). This year, Viettel has registered 25 patent certificates, a three-fold increase on last year's number.
As the result, the group contributed VND 41.1 trillion to the State budget, up by 2.3% against the previous year.
This year, the company also ranked first among the 500 most profitable businesses (Profit500) in Vietnam, was named as the largest corporate taxpayer in Vietnam by the General Department of Taxation under the Ministry of Finance, and stood in first place out of the 50 most valuable brands listed on the Vietnamese stock market.
In 2018, Viettel targets to achieve VND 277 trillion in revenue, VND 45.5 trillion in profit, and to have 17 million 4G subscribers.
Additionally, the company will start to provide telecom services in Myanmar, its tenth overseas market, after Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Haiti, Timor-Leste, Mozambique, Cameroon, Tanzania and Burundi.
