Viettel operates 4G in border areas
PANO – The Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel Group) has tried its best to speed up its 4G network coverage in border areas.
This program aims to not only facilitate national sovereignty protection in border areas but also improve the cultural life of border troops by giving them a high-speed broadband internet access.
Since Viettel established and continuously improved its mobile network in border areas, lives of border troops have become less difficult. Further, Viettel with its wide mobile coverage and good connection has effectively supported border troops to fulfill their assigned tasks and firmly protect national sovereignty and security.
For instance, Viettel has worked with the Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command and contributed positively to maintaining national sovereignty, security and order in the border areas.
Recently, the Viettel Network Corporation invested in building a 2G and 4G base transceiver station (BTS) at the Dac No Border Post under the Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command. In fact, Viettel workers had to overcome various difficulties while building the 42m BTS within a month from July 1 to 29.
The People’s Army Newspaper would like to present several images of Viettel workers’ activities.

From Dong Xoai city (Binh Phuoc province), it takes four hours to get the Dac No Border Post where Viettel workers built 2G and 4G BTS. |
|
|
The path to the station is more than 1km long. In the rainy season, it is hard to go to the station. During the construction of the BTS, equipment is carried by Viettel workers. |

As there is no electricity grid, solar power is used to run the BTS. So technical workers also take care of the solar cells. |
|
|
Technicians check technical parameters of the solar power panels to ensure that they generate enough electricity for the BTS operation. |
