Nearly half of the above figure was paid over 100% of the insurance premium. In some cases, the compensation reached nearly VND 100 million.

As of December 27, 2021, the ratio between the claims and total expense was close to 90%, higher than the market practice (70 - 75%).

Relatives of Viettel employees can buy health insurance at a discount of nearly 50%.

The aforementioned figures are the outcomes of a health insurance program launched by Viettel for its employees’ relatives since 2020.

Last year alone, 2,500 Viettel employees registered to buy insurance for over 4,800 relatives through Viettel’s preferential program at a cost of 30 - 45% lower than that offered by available insurance packages on the market.

Depending on each insurance package, relatives of Viettel cadres and employees are entitled to benefits of life insurance, accident insurance, medical examination and treatment at 377 medical examination and treatment facilities, including international hospitals, nationwide.

Especially, despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, possible increase in insurance fees and benefit limitations, Viettel has kept its preferential programs unchanged and added new benefits such as paying treatment fees for COVID-19 patients assigned to be treated at home and receive online examination and treatment.

“Viettel would like to contribute its part to the care for its employees’ relatives,” said Vu Thi Mai, head of Viettel Human Resources Organization Department, adding that the health insurance program is seen as Viettel’s thanks to employees’ relatives who have always supported them to work and devote.

Apart from the above program, Viettel has over the past decade, presented Lunar New Year (Tet) gifts to its employees’ relatives, and launched programs to take care of its employees working abroad, and those affected by natural disasters, facing difficulties in life and whose family members suffer from serious illnesses.
