Under the agreement, Viettel has committed to supporting Nam Dinh province in building a solid foundation and implementing the latest technological solutions so that the province would complete the comprehensive digital transformation process by 2030.
Viettel will coordinate with the provincial authorities to gradually carry out digital transformation in economic and social fields, contributing to the province’s efforts in striving to be in the top 20 leading provinces across the country in e-government, digital government, digital economy, and digital society. By 2030, Nam Dinh will complete its digital transformation strategy and develop its smart city model.
In addition, Viettel has committed to ensuring adequate resources (leading experts), conducting training on digital transformation and information technology for the province’s staff.
During the 2021-2025 period, the provincial People’s Committee and Viettel will focus on promoting digital infrastructure, including popularizing optical fiber broadband infrastructure, high quality 5G network; building a government cloud computing platform; developing a shared digital data warehouse; and fostering e-government, digital economy, digital society, other priority sectors, and so on.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Nam Dinh provincial People’s Committee Pham Dinh Nghi expressed his belief that Viettel, a leading corporation in technology, would give its advice and fully meet the province’s needs of comprehensive digital transformation.
Also, he hoped that the signed contents would be implemented as soon as possible and gain remarkable achievements.
As reported, up to now, Viettel has signed cooperation agreements on digital transformation and building smart cities with more than 30 provinces and cities nationwide. Recently, Viettel’s smart city model was evaluated as the most effective and innovative in the world at the World Communications Awards.
Previously, the Thua Thien Hue Smart Administration Center Project developed by Viettel received the Telecom Asia Awards 2019 in the most innovative smart cities category.
