Viettel allocates approximately VND 100 billion to support storm-hit localities
PANO - As of September 13, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) has supported people and customers affected by Typhoon Yagi with a total value of approximately VND 100 billion.
Viettel contributed VND 20 billion to the Ministry of Defense’s fund and VND 80 billion in services provided to those directly affected by the natural disaster.

Viettel directly credited service fees to the accounts of over 2 million customers and established emergency communication channels for people and rescue teams in severely affected areas. The military business prioritized setting up new communication lines and provided hundreds of SIM cards for rescue teams in such communes and districts that experienced landslides as Phuc Khanh commune, Nam Luc commune (Lao Cai), and Ca Thanh commune (Cao Bang), to ensure communication.

In addition to communication support, Viettel has conducted approximately 3,000 trips, transporting around 7,500 tons of goods and essential supplies to provinces affected by the third storm. It has maintained the operation of post offices to receive goods and necessities from benefactors for storm-hit people. Additionally, Viettel has provided 500 phone charging points in areas that had power outage.
