PANO - Song Thu Corporation - a shipbuilder under the General Department of Defense Industry of the Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense, on March 8 handed over a Damen RoRo 5612 vessel to the National Air and Naval Service of Panama (Senan) in Da Nang City.
The ship, 57.27m long and 12m wide with a displacement of 600 tons, designed by the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group, can operate at around 10 nautical miles per hour.
Once operational, the vessel will support troops in carrying out several missions, including law enforcement, aids to navigation (ATON), and replenishment at sea (RAS).
Mr. O. Liver Martiz from Senan highly appreciated the quality of the Song Thu’s product and pledged to further order other ships for natural disasters response and relief from the Vietnamese shipbuilder.
Meanwhile, O. Van Papenrecht from Damen underlined that the handover proved Song Thu employees’ specialized competence as well as the trust of clients in the company, hoping that they will win more contracts in the coming time.
