High-speed patrol vessels launched for Vietnam Border Guard
PANO – The Song Thu Corporation of the General Department of Defense Industry of the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to launch two high-speed patrol vessels, which will be transferred to the Vietnam Border Guard Command.
The two modern and high-speed vessels are of Spa 4207 class, designed for missions of coastal patrol and maritime protection, search and rescue, and marine security surveillance.
The ships with their reasonable designs require a low operational cost and facilitate service and maintenance while still meeting all international standards and meeting the task requirements of the Vietnam Border Guard.

The 42.82 meters long and 7.11 meters wide vessel can operate at a maximum speed of 25.5 knots per hour.
During the shipbuilding process, the corporation’s leadership and workers heightened their sense of responsibility, strictly followed technical procedures and ensured labor safety.
The two newly-built ships, together with the two similar vessels launched before, are expected to improve quality and efficiency of task performance of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty over the sea and islands.
