Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha speaking at the event

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly valued the fruitful development of the Vietnam-Russia economic and commercial relations in the past based on their comprehensive strategic partnership established in 2012 and a free trade agreement (FTA) signed between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in 2015. The two countries continue to consider each other an important priority partner in their respective economic and trade policies, he added.

Mr. Ha underlined that Vietnam always creates favorable business-climate and legal-corridor conditions for foreign enterprises, including Russian enterprises, to invest and do business in the country.

Vietnam prioritizes attracting foreign investment in the fields of high technology, innovation, research and development, contributing to the green and sustainable development of Vietnam’s economy.

He expressed his belief that the forum was an occasion for the two countries’ business communities to discuss concrete solutions for remaining challenges as well as opportunities for both sides to boost their coordination in the time to come.

For his part, Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Chernyshenko said that to Russia, Vietnam has always been an important partner in Southeast Asia. Vietnam is also the first and only country in the region to have an FTA with the EAEU. On this basis, business activities between enterprises from Vietnam and Russia have benefited significantly from the pact. The two countries are ready to discuss new measures to further develop its potential, he affirmed.
