Present at the handover ceremony in Hanoi on April 6 were Major General Dinh Quoc Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Unit 969 and Political Commissar of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command; Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi; and Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang.

Addressing the event, Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Chernyshenko stressed that Russia recognized and highly appreciated the active contribution of the board and Gen. Son himself to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Russia, directly the All-Russian Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (VILAR), will continue to promote its coordination with the board in securing long-term preservation and absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh’s body and performing other duties.

Receiving the order, Maj. Gen. Bui Hai Son confirmed that it was his honor and also the Russian state’s recognition towards generations of the board’s staff.

He stressed that in the coming time, the board will further strengthen cooperation, and develop good relations with the Russian institute, actively fostering the solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

Also on the day, the Russian Deputy PM and his entourage offered flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and to fallen troops at the Monument for Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son street.
