Van Tung scores two goals for Vietnam in the match against Malaysia. |
In the sixth minute, Van Tung scored the first goal for Vietnam from a penalty. In the 32nd minute, he hit the net the second time with a header following Minh Trong's pass.
In the last minutes of the first half, Malaysia shortened the score with a goal by Aiman Arif.
U22 Malaysia's players tried their best to level the score. They were not afraid of making mistakes to dominate the game. Using tricks, two Malaysian players Muhamad Safwan and Akmal Kamal were disqualified. Playing without two players made U22 Malaysia helpless in scoring more goals. They had to accept a 1-2 loss against Vietnam and stopping at the 32nd SEA Games.
With this 2-1 victory, Vietnam currently rank second in Group B, behind Thailand, who won 4-1 against Laos on the same day.
Vietnam will play their last match of the group stage against Thailand on May 11.
