More than 4,500 books from the American publisher Sterling, including educational games for children, are on display at a new exhibition at Xuan Thu Bookstore in HCM City’s District 1.
The book’s subjects include a wide range of topics, including art, crafts, children, gardening, non-fiction, history and home decorating.
Also, included are children’s literature and books on pets, photography, puzzles and games, science and nature, sports and travel.
This is the second exhibition that HCM City Book Distribution Co. (Fahasa) and Sterling have jointly held.
The show last year marked the first time that Sterling had taken part in an exhibition anywhere outside the US, said Adrian Greenwood, director of Sterling’s UK and export sales.
In addition to the exhibition, Fahasa and Sterling launched their first joint teacher training seminar on Sept. 15.
“The aim was to bring to Vietnamese teachers a heightened awareness of the range of educational books available from Sterling and how they can be used in the classroom,” said Greenwood.
He said Sterling ’s children’s division strived to publish educational books for children that make learning fun, ranging from the series No Sweat Science and My First Nature Book to puzzles and games.
“This exhibition of books from Sterling gives us the opportunity to promote the great strengths of our publishing and to showcase innovative new publishing from the US,” said Greenwood.
The exhibition lasts until September 24.
