The Vietnam General Consulate in the Australian city of Perth has hosted an art exhibition as part of a series of activities celebrating the 40 years of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic ties.
A number of paintings are on display, featuring beautiful Vietnamese landscapes and portraits celebrating traditional culture. It is hoped that the exhibition will strengthen cultural cooperation between the two governments and peoples.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Consul General Le Viet Duyen highlighted the considerable achievements in all-round ties between the two countries during the last 40 years, especially since they were lifted to strategic partnership level in 2009.
To mark the opening of the exhibition, the general consulate presented the government of the state of Western Australia with a landscape painting of Perth by Vietnamese artists - as a symbol of the ever-growing friendship between Vietnam and Australia.
Western Australia is eager to enhance its ties with Vietnam, said an official of the state government.
