PANO – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently issued Decision No.829/QD-BVHTTHL on the recognition of seven new items in the categories of traditional festivals, social practices and beliefs, traditional craftsmanship and literacy as the national intangible cultural heritage.

The newly-recognized items include Xuan Lai bamboo product craft village in Xuan Lai commune, Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh province; Nghinh Ong Festival in Binh Thang commune, Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province; Cau Ngu Festival in Da Nang city; Le Chan Female General Festival in Hai Phong city; Truong Dinh Festival in Go Cong, Gia Thuan commune, Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province; ancient Thai script in Son La province; and Cai Rang floating market in Can Tho city.

The ministry asked the People’s Committees at all levels in the above localities to manage and preserve the heritage items in line with regulations on cultural heritage.
