Women aged 18 to 26 who are at least 1.65m tall and have had no cosmetic surgery are eligible to enter the contest. The selective rounds of Miss Vietnam 2018 will begin in August.

The contest organizers are Tien Phong newspaper in cooperation with the Vietnam Women’s Association and Sen Vang Agency.

They have invited a group of experts in the field to select 30 candidates for the semifinal rounds in Nghe An and Binh Dinh provinces.    

At the semifinals scheduled to be held in mid-September, the contestants will compete in the categories of traditional costumes, swimsuits, question-and-answer sessions and evening wear.

They will also take part in two additional competitions highlighting their talent and charity work.

Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh will support contestants during the event.

Five finalists will compete on the final night on September 22 at Phu Tho Gymnasium in HCM City’s Tan Binh district.

The winner will receive VND 500 million (USD 24,000) in cash and gifts worth several hundred millions of Vietnam dong, while the runner-ups will take home VND 200 million (USD 9,500) each.

The winner will represent Vietnam in the global competition Miss World 2018.

Organizers will also present Miss Charming Face, Miss Sports and Miss Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) and Miss Charity. The event will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.

Miss Vietnam began in 1988 and has been organized every two years. The contest has encouraged many young women to demonstrate their talent in careers and charity and social activities.
