PANO - A graffiti exhibition, “Abilight”, by the Hitotzuki, will be held on December 14th in Hanoi by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, in celebration of the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Year 2013.
The Hitotzuki is an artistic group formed in 1999 by Kami and Sasu, aimed at expanding creativity from the street culture.
“Abilight” is a compound word from “Abi[lity]” + “Light”. It conveys a positive message to visitors in Vietnam to share their feelings for the future.
The exhibition will also introduce a series of products designed by the group, ranging from T shirts, bags, caps to skateboards, watches and mugs. Their designs ranging from artworks to commercial products will surely inspire young Vietnamese generations in their future creativity.
The free exhibition will open at the Japan Foundation (27 Quang Trung, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) at 15:00 on December 14th, starting off with an opening dance by dancers from the Vietnam Youth Theatre. The dancers in blue, the same colours and motifs as the group’s paintings, will perform in front of the graffiti.
